Outreach Event In Florida With Congresswoman Brown-Waite

On Saturday, May 19, The Ripon Society held a State Policy Outreach Luncheon in Crystal River, FL with Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite.  Three outstanding high school seniors received Ripon Society Educational Scholarship Awards.  Jamie Gajos, Amanda Canupp, and Hal Jaquith were all awarded Ripon Educational Scholarships based on their academic achievements, community involvement and proposed course of studies in college.

Now in her third term representing Florida’s 5th Congressional District, Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite took time at the outreach event to discuss some of the major policy issues facing our nation and her Florida constituents.

Topics of her speech included the need for adequate funding and accountability for our Veterans Administration; support for Iraqi benchmarks and time for the troop surge to progress in Iraq; the great economic progress and job growth in recent years that has been spurred by Congress through important tax reductions; and support for protecting citizens with secret ballots in union voting.  We thank the Congresswoman and everyone else for coming out to a fantastic event!
