Ripon Forum Looks at Global Trade with Carlos Gutierrez, Carla Hills, Tim Pawlenty

August/September edition also features essay by Ross Perot’s press secretary on the ’92 campaign and the challenges of mounting a 3rd party bid today

WASHINGTON, DC – The Ripon Forum examines the issue of “Global Trade in the Balance” in its August/September edition, with essays by Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, former U.S. Trade Rep Carla Hills, and Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, among others.

            Also included in this edition is an essay by former Ross Perot press secretary Jim Squires, who reflects on the 1992 presidential campaign and shares his thoughts on the challenges of mounting a third party bid for office today.  And, homeland security expert Randall Larsen presents a report card on the Department of Homeland Security six years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The Ripon Forum is a journal of political thought and opinion that was first published in 1965 and is now published bimonthly by the Ripon Society.  The Ripon Society is a public policy organization that was founded in 1962 and takes its name from the town where the Republican Party was born in 1854 — Ripon, Wisconsin.
