Ripon Society to Hold State Policy Outreach Event with Congressman Tom Price

Discussion Scheduled for this Friday, March 7, in Roswell, GA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Ripon Society will hold its first State Policy Outreach event of 2008 this Friday, March 7th, with a discussion with Congressman Tom Price (GA-6) in Roswell, Georgia.  Congressman Price represents Roswell and the surrounding area in the U.S. House of Representatives.  The policy event will begin at 7:00 pm and be held at Roswell Founders Hall in Roswell.

The goal of the Ripon Society’s State Policy Outreach Event series is to encourage and foster and public policy debate in cities and towns across the country.  In addition to the discussion with Congressman Price, the outreach event will feature a scholarship presentation for three students from the Roswell area.  The students — Peter Ianakiev of Roswell High School, Sheila Vedala of Alpharetta High School, and Krista Whalen of Chattahoochee High School – will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Ripon Society for their future college studies.

The Ripon Society is a public policy organization that was founded in 1962 and takes its name from the town where the Republican Party was born in 1854 — Ripon, Wisconsin.  One of the main goals of the Ripon Society is to promote the ideas and principles that have made the GOP — and America — great.  These ideas include keeping our nation secure, keeping taxes low and having a federal government that is smaller, smarter and more accountable to the people.
