Ripon Society Holds 2026 Election Preview with NRCC Executive Director Micah Yousefi

WASHINGTON, DC – With less than six months until the 2026 midterms, The Ripon Society held a lunch discussion yesterday focused on another critical campaign in which Republicans will fight to expand their current majority on Capitol Hill.

The discussion featured remarks from National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Executive Director Micah Yousefi. Yousefi, a seasoned political strategist, previously served as the Deputy Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s independent expenditure unit for the 2022 cycle and as the NRCC’s Deputy Executive Director for the successful 2024 cycle.

“With the midterms on the horizon, the political landscape is finally starting to take shape,” stated Jim Conzelman, the President & CEO of The Ripon Society. “The lines are almost drawn, the candidates are almost set, and the messages that will resonate with the American people are being tested and fine-tuned around the country. In short, there’s a lot going on – which is why we appreciate Micah joining us yesterday afternoon. Micah is at the center of the Republican effort to hold and build their House Majority, and we are grateful that she took time out of her busy schedule to tell us more about this effort and why she is so optimistic about GOP prospects this fall.”

According to Conzelman, yesterday’s meeting was attended by a crowd of over 50 people and was the 17th event The Ripon Society has held so far in 2026. He also noted that The Ripon Society will host another discussion the following week with Vice Chair of the House Financial Services Committee U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga (MI-04), and President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget Maya MacGuineas, who will be discussing practical solutions to resolving the national debt. The Ripon Society will then meet with Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, U.S. Rep. French Hill (AR-02), who is slated to discuss the affordability crisis that is facing American families and share his perspective on digital assets, fintech innovation, and how AI can help create a more competitive financial system that works for consumers in the coming weeks.

The Ripon Society is a public policy organization that was founded in 1962 and takes its name from the town where the Republican Party was born in 1854 – Ripon, Wisconsin. One of the main goals of The Ripon Society is to promote the ideas and principles that have made America great and contributed to the GOP’s success. These ideas include keeping our nation secure, keeping taxes low and having a federal government that is smaller, smarter and more accountable to the people.
